TAS Summer Slam '08 in Full Swing

The Alternative Sport in Blountville, TN just held its second event of the 2008 Summer Slam series. Several local teams made the trip down, and made it a super competitive event. After the dust settled, the standings looked like this:

Congratulations to the event winners! Remember, the Summer Slam is a series event, with teams accumulating points at each event, which will determine the overall series winner.

We'll see everyone at the next event, being held on Sept. 6 at TAS Blountville.

Smackz.com UPDATE!!!

What's this? A Smackz.com update? WOW!!! Despite the contrary belief that Smackz.com is dead it is just now catching its second wind. It's been a while, but Smackz is back and ready to get down to business.

It looks like Right Attitude is planning to open up their field again this weekend. Also, TAS has put together a scenario game for February 3, 2007. Look in the Upcoming Events block to the right for links to information on these games.

Updates...Posts...A New Poll... Surprise!

So we go for multiple-months with no updates and then we have new posts on the Forums, a few updates up front, and even a goofy new Poll/Survey to contend with. What gives?

CCP Open This Weekend

What better way to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather than playing paintball at one of the best fields in our region. Cross Creek Paintball will open up both Saturday and Sunday for all of the good little girls and boys to try out all of their new paintball toys. Woohoo!

Stop Your Grinnin' and Drop Your Linen...Its an Update!

Boy...I bet you thought you'd seen the last Smackz.com update for 2006 (or maybe beyond) back in October. Well, you were wrong! Between taking on extra job responsibilities, exploring other hobbies, and playing lots of Gears of War, I just haven't had much time to work on the site. Also, I thought I'd let things cool off a bit after the end of the 2006 SPTS.

As most of you are aware, it appears that the SPTS may be on hiatus for awhile. Why? You've read many guesses and speculations (not very credible) but you've also read some posts/comments form a few SPTS Board Members (the truth). I do plan to make my "official" statement on the matter....but not today.

Today, I wanted to let everyone know that Smackz.com is still alive and viable for the paintballers in our region. I have plans for the site and hope to follow the precedence set by previous Smackz.com updates (bigger, better, more). For those that have inquired about purchasing the site or domain; thanks for the offers but you can't afford it :)

So, without further ado, the Smackz family hopes you have an AWESOME New Year!

Lots of Fun at CCP

Cross Creek Paintball was open this past Saturday with plenty of paintballers showing up to enjoy the great weather. While many were playing, others were observing and selling their flea market items. Overall, I had a blast and look forward to the next go around.

BTW - Is there any other field besides CCP where you will find the field owner playing with an 8-rd pistol while everyone else is using electronic markers?

CCP to host Paintball Flea Market

Not only will Cross Creek Paintball open their barrel field on Saturday, they will be hosting another paintball flea market. Bring your "extra" gear to sell or trade and bring a little cash to pick up something unique. You can read a little more about it here.

Right Attitude to Host 3-Man Open Tourney

Right Attitude Paintball, home of the 2006 SPTS champions, is hosting a 3-man open tournament on Sunday, October 15, 2006 at their field in Beckley, WV. You can read more about it here.

Speaking of Right Attitude, Bill and crew plan to open the field this coming Sunday for rec-ball and open play. That would be a great opportunity to get in a little practice before the tourney.
